Year 6

Junior Duke Award

Well done to the Y6 children who have taken part in the Junior Duke Award this year.

Junior Duke rewards the children for expanding their skills outside of the classroom.

After each challenge, they complete their book and bring it to school.

The children have gained their Platinum Award which was presented to them by Wendy Morton MP when she visited the school.

Y6 Dig For Victory Garden.

They have created a wonderful Dig for Victory garden, complete with WWII air raid shelter and veg patch.

To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the British Legion, 30 trees have been donated by the local branch and planted by the children and veterans.

The garden was officially opened by R.H. Wendy Morton MP for Aldridge and Brownhills and the Mayor of Walsall, Councillor Rose Burley, accompanied by local Councillors Mr John Murray and Mr Tim Wilson.

We were also joined by Royal British Legion members Sgt Major Tam Miller and Harry Fry with the Standard.

A huge THANK YOU to Bob Cooke, who organised this event for us.

We hope this will become an annual event with year 6 as the area is developed and matures.
