Wonder Investigate Learn Discover
The curriculum drive is our WILD ethos; this runs through all of our teaching and learning at Leighswood. We Wonder by asking and answering enquiry questions, we Investigate through key disciplinary concepts and Learn and Discover key knowledge. Expeditions are short learning journeys that deliver a cross curricular approach through six themes per year. Our Curriculum also includes an in-school experience, a trip to a further afield destination and a local walk or short local transport visit bespoke to year group. The Forest curriculum enhances and embeds our Expeditions through active outdoor learning experiences. Forest also develops specific life-skills, the well-being of our children and provides quiet space for conversations. We continually review and develop our curriculum based on internal and external research into best practice and what we know works well for our pupils.
